JOB POSTING: Grand Forks Tourism Ambassador

The Boundary Chamber is excited to announce an opportunity for a Grand Forks Tourism Ambassador summer position. This is a fantastic opportunity for youth interested in gaining hands-on experience in tourism and community engagement. This position is funded under the Canada Summer Jobs program, aiming to help youth gain job skills and experience.

Positions Available: 1 Tourism Ambassador
Duration: 9 weeks (June 28th – August 30th)
Hours: 30 hours per week
Rate of Pay: $18 per hour
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday
Location: Grand Forks

Job Description:

  • Engage with visitors in the Grand Forks area including the Market District, trails and other recreation and tourist sites by distributing travel literature and assisting with directions, maps, and answering their questions
  • Promote the restaurants, attractions, and accommodations in the Grand Forks area
  • Attend local events, including the weekly farmer and crafters market, to provide tourism information at a Discover Grand Forks booth
  • Conduct surveys with visitors to gather information that will be used to determine the economic impact of tourism in Grand Forks
  • Update Discover Grand Forks social media pages
  • Assist in administrative duties related to the development of the Grand Forks Ambassador Program
  • Assist the Market District Committee in planning the KidsFest event in August
  • Assist during the Canada Day event

Job Criteria:
Must be between the ages of 15 to 30.
Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person to whom refugee protection has been conferred.
